SkyScout Planetarium

Strengths: Lightweight. Easy to use right out of the box.

Weakness: Battery life could be improved

This is an amazing device for targeting planets, stars and constellations. Fun to use with a clear night sky. Great for all ages. The built in comments about what you are viewing are great however I wish a speaker was built in instaed of using headphones. Overall 4 stars out of 5.

Celestron SkyScout Handheld GPS-Based Planetarium...

Strengths: Unique astronomical tool

Weakness: Somewhat hard to read display, pricey

The Celestron SkyScout Handheld GPS-Based Planetarium Device is really quite a technological marvel. Celestron Skyscout

Strengths: Easy to navigate menu. Easy to find stars. It identifies stars and planets very quickly. Accuracy? I would say 95 out of 100.

Weakness: No lens cap. No magnification function. It is expensive.

It is a good purchase if you are interested in identifying stars in night sky. It has voice data that provide explanations about stars, planets, and constellation. It is very light and small. However, it is quite expensive.

Sub-standard product design and does not function as...

Strengths: none - one big misrepresentation

Weakness: all - does not work as Clesetron represents it to

SkyScout does not operate as Celestron, the mfg. represents it to. Functions do not perform and results are rarely correct. The GPS is not accurate and close by best to the actual coordinates so beware. I purchased 3 units, 1 was returned once and 1 twice and they still do not work as represented.
