Strengths:  Durable, Sharp Focus, Strong Construction
Weaknesses:  Almost twice more expensive than its Canon counterpart
Review:  As with all nikon pro glass the construction build is of great quality. It is durable and easy to handle. The lens zooms really smoothly. Lens is extremely sharp especially in the center focus areas. The bokeh is wonderful at the wide apertures. The only true negative as usual, is the high price, almost twice more expensive than its Canon counterpart.

Strengths:  cover useful focal lengths
Weaknesses:  plastic
Review:  Got it with a D90 kit. this is probably one of the most satisfying kit lens in the market. It produce picture quality that isn't visually worse than any other expensive lens. VR works great and saved many of my pics. however the swm is a bit slower than expected and the build is plastic and doesn't look too durable.. other than those, its a superb kit lens!

Weaknesses:  other than the lack of VR, have to actually switch it from AF to MF

Review:  This is a wonderful lens for specific usage, namely, mid range zoom and of course, macro work. It's sharp and fast in terms of aperture and auto-focus speed, and it works great with portrait and small objects. I did take it to the city a couple of times and found it quite limited in shooting people or architecture.

Strengths:  Of course, a Nikkor lense!!!
Weaknesses:  No real advantage over the 28-200 DX Nikkor lense.
Review:  So, that's the question. I bought the 28-200mm DX Nikkor lense in the past and it's the zoom lense I usually use for travelling. I have an old fisheye 14mm Tamron lense and it does the job I demand for that focal. I think 18-200 is as great as the old 28-200, and the zoom to consider to buy if you don't have anyone.
