Surprising sharpness -- "spaceage" material is not cheap plastic, but strong "fiberglass"-like parts.
Strengths: Very good results -- I can enlarge up to 11' X 14" with crisp details. Very light encourages owners to choose Phoenix over heavier lenes of same length.
Weakness: Apparently getting hard to find. Get one if you see one!
I use my Phoenix with an EOS 10D and the combination feels good in my hands. I use my 70-200 EF "L" with my 20D or my 75-300 EF IS if I after birds at the feeders. In short, the photos I might be enlarging to ultra-large I leave to my 20D and Canon lenses. But I like the Phoenix and use it ofter with terrific results.
