Strengths: Light weight, relatively short minimal focusing distance
Weakness: Mediocre optics, by any means not a fast lens
After 6 rolls of film I finally decided to give this lens a review. The G design (no aperture ring) does not bother me as much as others (could by just my preference) but thanks to that and the all plastic design, the lens is very light (just about the only good thing about it). The zoom range is not that great (28-200 would be much more appropriate for this lens) and the optics leave you with...

Strengths: Goood optics, low price, sharp and fast autofocus wide range of zoom, well built, light weight, quality assurance from Nikkon
Weakness: No wider aperture than 3.5, not a super crisp lens, no aperture ring - G Lens.
This is one of the basic lenses with Nikon Auto Focus lens with good range of zoom 28 to 100mm. The zoom range covers most basic photographic need. As always Nikon optics is sharp and auto focus is very accurate and fast, but you cannot claim this to the finest lens that Nikon offers.
