Decent budget Tripod

Strengths: Manfrotto quality and reputation. Supports more than the rated 10lb. Light weight. Comes with strap.

Weakness: Made in PRC is a bit disappointing for those of us looking for Made in Italy stuff.

This is a decent tripod for the money. Paid about $25 so can't complain about that. Nice solid gauge aluminum and hard plastic latches. Very sturdy for its weight and construction. Manfrotto fit and finish as always. IMHO I don't see the need for exotic materials like Basalt or Carbon fiber atleast for monopods as they are pretty light already. Nice solid gauge aluminum and hard plastic latches.
Very sturdy for its weight and construction. Manfrotto fit and finish as always.

IMHO I don't see the need for exotic materials like Basalt or Carbon fiber atleast for monopods as they are pretty light already.

So if you are on a tight budget and looking for a decent tripod, this is your best bet.

Does exactly what it should

This is a solid monopod for someone where quality build combined with being light and compact is their priority. More expensive (and slightly bigger and heavier) models are out there, but this one works fine for someone not using enormous gear.

Put the Bogen/Manfrotto 3229 "Swivel Tilt Monopod Head" on it, and thus have quick release and ability to tilt to portrait perspective as needed (or in an emergency, can rotate the plate on the camera and tilt forward and back). [Just don't confuse that 3229 with the 3299, which is simply a tripod quick release adapter that uses the same plate.] The 3229 monopod head seems to weigh almost as much as the monopod itself, but I find it worth it.

Ultimately, I find this a nice, affordable, sturdy monopod. Not the most expensive nor "top of the line" one out there, but probably markedly better quality than I expected for the price. Zero complaints so far.

A great light monpod!

Strengths: Compact, light and very sturdy

Weakness: None

My first monopod, very satisfied. 19" folded, 60" maximum height, only 14 oz, and surprisingly sturdy! Very high quality and very easy to use. Add a Manfrotto 3229 Swivel Tilt Monopod Head with quick release, it would be a great monopod.

Ultra light weight monopod

Strengths: light weight, easy to extend

Weakness: n/a

The monopod provides me enough stability to take pictures with longer shutter speed. Because it is light weight, I don't mind to carry it around. It's not a replace for the tripod, but when space and/or weight limitation applies, this is the best solution I have. I guarantee you will you get bang for the bucks.

It makes all your shots better by stabilizing the camera, and there is nothing more annoying than watching shaky video. That said, I think the Digi Monopod is the perfect choice. It is an extremely solid piece of equipment, made of durable metal in the telescoping part with a metal screw to attach your camera. The attachment area is generously sized and is coated with a non-slip rubber so that your camera stays put very well. There is also a non-slip rubber grip that is very high quality and definately better than a foam grip found on some other monopods. The adjustability is also top notch, with sturdy quick release clasps so you can go from tall to small in seconds. The best attribute of the digi monopod is its low price. It is the least expensive of the manfrotto monpods and is well worth the price.
