One GREAT! and VERY nice camera. Took out of box and began shooting excellent photos right off the bat. I did have to read the instructions to see what a couple of the control were and how to get to a couple of things. Excellent feel of the camera, Excellent location of control buttons. Love the anti-shaking, and live view.
Strengths: very easy to use, accepts lenses from my minolta 35mm, sony software easy to use. lots of "high tech" for the price.
Weakness: pictures are not as crystal clear as i hoped they would be.
i have been using a minolta 35mm slr for years, and finally decided to upgrade to digital. i was very excited at the features available at this price. i bought it w/ the kit lens only because it was available at the same price as body-alone. i have read some poor reviews on the 18-70mm kit lens that comes with the camera. i hope to upgrade soon. i have not gotten any of my pictures developed yet,...
Strengths: great picture quality simple for even an idiot to use
Weakness: auto settings always change back to the default
ok my pictures are of birds and other things and i can catch even the wind blowin the feathers i got a 420-800 mechanical lense attached to it and it shoots great pictures with that lense
The Sony Alpha DSLR-A350, along with the DSLR-A300 are two Digital SLR cameras from Sony. These models are essentially upgrades to the Alpha DSLR-A200 release in the fall of 2007. Both the 350 and 300 two distinct new features: 1) Live View mode for the LCD viewfinder, and 2) an articulating LCD screen. Also, the A350 offers a significant increase in its resolution, increasing to 14.2 megapixels,...

You tend to classify the Sony A350 as a semi-pro camera. Not a bad thing, because it shows that the housing and appearance of the camera give you a good feeling, certainly with the Carl Zeiss lens mounted on the camera. However, you have to adjust the expectations coming with these feelings, judge the test results on their true value, and place the camera in the amateur segment. I am convinced...

The Sony A350 is a new mid-range DSLR camera with some headline-grabbing features, most notably a 14 megapixel sensor and a 2.7 inch, tilting LCD screen complete with Live View. The A350 has a lot of rivals, with the Canon EOS 450D / Rebel XSi, Nikon D60 and D80, and Olympus E-510 all vying for your attention, but it’s certainly competitively priced at less than £500 / $400 with a kit lens....

The Alpha DSLR-A350 is the middle child in Sony's 2008 digital SLR lineup. The A350 has a lot to offer for $799 (body only), including image stabilization, the best live view system on the market, responsive performance, class-leading battery life, and sturdy build quality. In terms of photo quality, the A350 has some work to do -- like most of Sony's recent models, there's just too much noise...

Only the 14-megapixel sensor, an articulating LCD screen, and Sony's new Live View mode differentiate the Sony A350 from the already reviewed Sony A200 digital SLR camera. All three have an impact on the utility of the Sony A350, but overall image quality is surprisingly similar to the A200. The simplicity of the Sony A350's design belies its inner sophistication, which includes Dynamic Range...

The Sony Alpha A350 is a feature-packed DSLR with a compelling price tag. With high resolution, built-in stabilisation, Live View and a tilting screen, it ticks the boxes of most new DSLR buyers. Sony’s fuss-free Live View is also arguably the best implementation yet for general consumers. It’s quick, quiet and offers uncompromised auto-focusing performance. But more demanding technical...

Went to Digital SLR
Strengths: The weight of this camera is very even when holding with the grip. Very easy to use. The Live View is GREAT!!!
Weakness: The noise level in low light, but the Canon Xsi has the same problem.
I was using a Canon PowerShot Pro 1 series camera. I had been thinking about the DSLR's and I am glad I waited for this camera to come around. Even though I was taking great shots with the Canon, I needed a larger formated picture since I shoot alot in Macro. I do love the detail I achive with this camera when shooting nature, flowers etc. I was looking at the Canon Xsi 12.1, but comparing the 2...
