Weakness: space to improve in build quality
This is a nice camera to have with good optical zoom and high resolution. The lens is OK comparable to other point-and-shoot cameras. It performs better in outdoors than indoors. I found that you need to manually change ISO to 100 or so to improve the quality of image. My main complain is the build quality. It does not look like a Japanese-build one. In addition, it could have more choices of...
Strengths: 7X optical zoom in a small camera
Weakness: So far I have not found any weaknesses in this camera.
I do a lot of traveling and found most digital camera do not have the opt zoom needed to capture those wonderful sights in Europe. With the Pentax optio Z10 it has the powder of a 35mm camera yet it is compact for traveling and it fits perfectly in my purse.
THE GOOD: The Pentax has a 7x optical zoom lens; cute sliding lens cover design. THE BAD: Slow between shots; no optical or sensor-shift image stabilization. THE BOTTOM LINE: Pentaxs Optio Z10 isnt quite as nice as the companys Optio S10, but its attractive price helps make up for its quirks and modest feature set.

The Pentax Optio Z10 shoehorns a 7x optical zoom into a pocket digital camera that remains fairly light, despite the thick profile. A sliding door protects the lens from damage; though because it's a folded optic, the Pentax PZ10's lens stays inside the camera regardless of the focal length. A 2.5-inch LCD, an 8-megapixel sensor, and a high ISO of 3,200 round out the Pentax PZ10's basics. Face...

Viewed in isolation, the Z10 is a fair compact with a bigger than average zoom, and a non-extending lens which unusually can be used while filming a video. But the lack of optical or sensor-shift stabilisation is pretty unforgivable in this day and age – especially for a 7x zoom model – and the fact you can get so much more at little extra cost from the competition makes it ultimately hard to...

The new Pentax Optio Z10 is a compact digital camera with a 7x optical zoom lens, something of a departure for a company who typically produce compacts with 3x zooms. About the same size as a pack of playing cards and weighing less than 150g, the diminutive Pentax Z10 squeezes in a 38-266mm lens, 2.5 inch LCD screen and 8 megapixel sensor. Also featuring a sliding lens cover, Face Recognition,...

camera is ok
Strengths: very nice design and the lack of protruding lens is quite nice. quick start up time.
Weakness: not as small as my older cameras that could fit in a tin. pictures are a little slow to save if you want to take more quickly. the remote control that i could use on my older cameras does not work.
overall very nice looking but not for power users, the pics are alright with the standard setting, for better pics you just need to tweek it until you find the best settings. cant complain about the price with the included rebate. i do wish it had the focus light that previous models had, it helps when taking pictures in dark environments but so far i have not had a single blurry picture.
