Great camera for size and features

Strengths: 10x zoom!!!!, wide angle lens, enough features and scene selection to work with almost any situations, 3" LCD beautiful body, strongly built

Weakness: Slightly large, barrel can get lengthy at telescopic end, battery life only decent

This camera is amazing. First off, the body is perfect. The silver and black are in all the right places and makes this camera look beautiful. Next, the LCD is massive and makes taking pictures very easy. It doesn't have a viewfinder, but I never used one on a digital so I can't say I miss one. This picture quality is great as well. Though there aren't full manual controls, the scene selections...

Nice cam, good for travel

Strengths: 28mm wide angle;10x optical zoom;compact size

Weakness: No zoom changing at video mode, a bit heavy

I brought this camera to a road trip during the thanksgiving holiday. It's a perfect camera for traveling. 10 x zoom helps a lot. It focus and zoom really fast. The battery life is awesome that I only charge twice during the one week road trip with more than 1500 photos taken.

A balance that works for me

Strengths: Size; incredible optical zoom for a compact camera, supported by optical image stabilization; intuitive user interface; sturdy metal case * Ability to take high-capacity SD (SDHC) car

Weakness: LCD screen seems to be too large for this small body; Relatively noisy CCD

To me, a perfect digital camera does not exist. It is all about the balance of picture quality and size. My experience is such that I would rather have a poor image taken taken at the right moment with a cell phone camera than carry a big camera with me at all times. This camera strikes the perfect balance for me: small enough to carry it on my belt, sturdy enough to take the abuse of daily wear...

TZ3K Panasonic Compact Ultra-Zoom

Strengths: Well Build, Large 3" LCD screen, Good photo quality, good anti-shaking technology, wide angle 28mm

Weakness: no zoom function for video, no auto playback after shooting a photo.

Excellent camera, very well build. The 3" LCD really help to view pictures. Setting is simple. Photo quality is good. I used the camera for taking picture of my little baby boy. Speed performance is average, no match compared to my DSLR. Wide angle len is a plus to me too.

Great Everyday Camera

Strengths: 10x zoom, 28mm wide angle lens, high quality optics, large bright screen with high-angle mode, high resolution (848x480) widescreen movie mode, image stabilization, small, and lightweight

Weakness: Overeager noise reduction, images very noisy at ISO 400 and above, no zooming during movies, mediocre macro mode, no manual shutter control, proprietary battery

I have been extremely happy with this camera so far. My previous camera was also a mega-zoom with image stabilization (a Konica-Minolta DiMage Z3), but it was very bulky. However, this camera has the same image stabilization and wide zoom range, but is small enough to easily fit in my pocket. It also has a very good lens and doesn't exhibit the same color smearing that most compact cameras do...

The best 10X zoom camera that fits in your pocket

Strengths: Excellent 10X lens. Optical image stablization.

Weakness: No zoom changing during video mode. Too much noise reduction resulting in losing details.

Overall a very good camera. It's great for taking outdoor pictures. For indoor pictures, it's not as good as the F31FD from Fujifilm, but passable. I use it in baseball games so I can take close up pictures. The image stablization works very well. The 10X zoom would be totally unusable without it.

I like it!

Strengths: 10x zoom Leica lens, pocketable size, solid build

Weakness: Spotty results in low light, battery life could be better, slow USB connection, no optical viewfinder

I wanted a big zoom, and yet I wanted a camera that I would actually carry around and use -- and that means one that will slip into my pants pocket. The combination seemed unattainable until the Panasonic TZ1 & TZ3 came along. If you want a big zoom and have no problem with lugging a case around, I would suggest going with something like the Canon S3. But if you want something that's about half...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3K

Strengths: 10X Optical Zoom, compact form factor, intuitive usage.

Weakness: No carrying case included.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3K camera is definitely worth the money for anyone who wants high quality in a small package. It is the only 10x optical zoom currently available on the market in a more compact model than Kodaks and other brands with comparable features. I have found it intuitive to use without cracking the manual --- the menus are easy to follow and it is simple to change and re-change...

Unique Camera

Strengths: 10x optical zoom; 28mm wide angle; compact size; excellent image stabilization

Weakness: Lack of manual aperature and shutter controls; no raw output; slow USB connection

I love this camera. I wanted a powerful zoom in a compact size. No other camera offered anything close to this at this size and price. To get a comparable zoom in a camera with equal picture quality would have required spending more money and the size and weight of the camera would have been much greater. Even then, I did not find another camera (which does not mean they don't exist) with a 28MM...

Excellent and Flexible Camera

Strengths: Wide Angle (28mm) and Zoom (10x)

Weakness: Image is soft

Great camera that very flexible and works in almost all situations. Below, I will touch on extra or best features: -Lens: It's best feature is the lens. It can cover both the wide angle (28mm) and zoom (10x). -Extended optical zoom: If you do not use the full resolution, then the optical zoom can extend beyond 10x. Note that this is not digital zoom; extended optical zoom has no loss of image...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3K (black)

THE GOOD: Wide, powerful lens with little distortion; quick performance. THE BAD: No manual exposure controls; tiny buttons; no stop-motion movie mode. THE BOTTOM LINE: Though it leaves out one fun, little shooting mode, the Panasonic DMC-TZ3 improves upon its predecessor in nearly every way.

Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ3 Review

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 is already the third camera on line in the Traveler Zoom series. And one must admit that Panasonic made it an ideal combination. Sufficiently compact for carrying with you at all times, equipped with a large optical range and besides that equipped with a real wide angle and the MEGA O.I.S. image stabilizer. The Panasonic TZ3 is therefore a true all-round compact camera...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3

With beauty from almost all angles, the most beautiful quality of the Panasonic TZ3 is the quality of its lens, and thus its images. We found the TZ3's controls to be a little less impressive, at least in terms of their look and feel; the good news is that they serve quite well, and the camera's menu and interface are easy to read and use in most lighting conditions. The Panasonic TZ3's optical...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3K

To take a great landscape photo of a sprawling mountain range or an island sunset, you used to need a bulky digital SLR with a pricey wide-angle lens. Now, however, several point-and-shoot cameras offer the beauty of wide-angle photography in less expensive, relatively compact packages. The best of the recent lot is the 7.2-megapixel Panasonic Lumix TZ3, which couples a 28mm wide-angle lens with...

Camera Labs – Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 review

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 is without a doubt one of the most flexible compact cameras on the market today – and one which has few if any rivals. It may not be the slimmest compact out there, but manages to pack in a genuine 10x optical zoom lens complete with image stabilisation and a 28mm equivalent wide angle. The lack of manual control can be annoying for enthusiasts, and the performance...

DCRP Review: Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3

While it wasn't perfect, I liked the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 enough to buy it for a family member. The new DMC-TZ3 doesn't really improve on that camera's weak spots -- namely overaggressive noise reduction and a lack of manual controls -- but it does add a really nice 28 - 280 mm lens and a big and beautiful 3-inch display. Yes, it has it's flaws, but it's a fun-to-use camera that offers a lot...
