Strengths: bright, clear 2.5" display. well balanced color
Weakness: low light autofocus, XD memory
after using this cam for about a month, the large display really got me hooked since the first day. Not only is it bright, but the frame rate is smooth when panning. color is also well balanced. this cam have trouble focusing in low light environment. last, XD memory will cost more than other flash type.

Strengths: No need for a camera case. Flip over design protects lens and LCD. Fits in shirt pocket. Fabulous bright 2.5" LCD better resolution than most. Solid build. Good picture quality and battery life.

I really like the Olympus IR500. It's LCD screen is larger than my previous camera. Add to that the fact that the LCD screen can be flipped around. I've had pretty good success taking outdoors shots / nature shots with this camera. And the 4 megapixel resolution is more than enough for me to print 4"x6" and 5"x7" photos. Strengths: Very nice design which can protect the lens and LCD very effectively. Small size, many scene mode.
Weakness: Too much compression. The size of best quality 4MP picture is just around 1M. pictures are little bit noisy.
Comparing the price I paid after rebate, I think that this camera is well worth the money. However, the pictures from this camera are little bit noisy and inner 3X zoom moves slowly and makes somewhat loud noise.
