Strengths: Lens adaptors. Rechargable batteries(packaged with camera reburbished directly from nikon). Measured white balance. Seperate recharger. Auto, scene and manual modes
Weakness: Red hue saturation from dimness, from any source of light. Harsh flash. Jerky zoom.
I only use this camera in manual mode with auto focusing set when the shutter button is pressed halfway. I was having a hard time getting pictures I liked in scene and auto mode, but manual mode has "white balance preset" where you focus on a white object, plain paper or kleenex and the camera calculates exact RGB values for true white. Colors are vibrant and image crystal clear. This is a camera...
Strengths: Very easy to use yet has most features of more expensive cameras available if needed.
Weakness: Haven't found any yet.
This camera seems to have all of the more advanced features available in an easy to use, compact, attractive, and solidly built format. Pictures appear to be very clear and this camera allows you to be flexible enough to push the limits for this type of camera. Accessories are readily available (filters, polarizers, etc.)
well, i do not own this camera but... i do own the NIkon 885, you can find the 885 for the same $ or lower and from reading these reviews i would say A much better camera! the 885 does not use reg. alkaline batteries it comes with rechargable lithium bat., charger, easy to use software, everything to get started. i have owned the 885 for about 6 mos.now, i have a 1 year old so i use it alot i...
Strengths: SMALL,GREAT PICTURES
Weakness: BATTERY LIFE
885 IS VERY EASY TO USE CAMERA, I WOULD TELL PEOPLE TO BUY THIS WONDERFUL CAMERA. PLUS I WOULD RECOMMEND PEOPLE TOO BUY AT LEAST 1 EXTRA BATTERY, JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE. BATTERY WILL RUN DOWN VERY FAST, I GUESS BECAUSE OF THE MONITOR.
Strengths: Overall, the Nikon Coolpix 885 has very good picture quality & the size of the camera makes it easy to carry around all the time. For it's size, it is a good value for a 3.21 MP camera.
Weakness: Add an extra $150 or so to upgrade to a larger compact flash card, batteries, charger, and case. And I preferred to buy at least 2 batteries due to a rapid discharge. (I guess that is normal.)
Besides the weaknesses as stated above, the Coolpix 885 is a very good camera for my usage. The quality of the name "NIKON" says you get quality. For the pictures already taken with this camera, I could not be happier. Speaking of accessories, go to eBay and shop for your hard to find "NIKON" accessories there. Most of the time you are finding your prices cheaper and just as good as retail. I...
Strengths: its small and easy to use
Weakness: picture quality is not as good as other 3 meg cameras I have seen. Nikon's 995 takes clearer and crisper pictures.
it has a lot of nice features built in but when I compare the picture quality to that of other 3 megapixel cameras it is below par. Outdoor bright light pictures are ok but indoor flash pictures are poor.
Strengths: Options: Scene settings, manual, auto, zoom, custom mode, silent movie mode for up to 40 seconds, monitor
Weakness: No audio
I have not put it down since getting it for xmas. easy downloading with compactflash memory card, setup menu is easy to navigate. playback menu has slide show. Medium difficulty level to take full advantage of all its' features. It allows you to be creative.
Strengths: Image quality, 12 scene modes, and compact size. Pretty good manual functions.
Weakness: Red dominant image under dim light, no rechargeable battery and charger in the US model.
In its price range and its class, 3 mega pixel, it has great image quality. Very easy to use all function buttons, and easy to take a photo with 12 scene modes. However, the view finder only covers 80% of the image you will get, and it would be better if it had hot shoe for an external speed light. Overall, great camera!
Strengths: This is a simple to use camera with no cryptic menues. The AUTO mode does a great job of covering almost every photo op need to get great pictures. A lot of camera for 3.3 mp -features abound.
Weakness: Battery lasts about 1.5 hr - longer if LCD is turned off. No charger with unit. Small CF Memory card 16meg.
This camera does just about everything a good 35mm can do. The menu system is easy to use. Zoom features are smooth from optical to digital. Great preview modes. The SCENE Mode give 12 great choices for specialized shooting, and the CUSTOM Mode gives the flexability of a regular 35mm film camera. Not for the shirt pocket but it is easily carried in a purse or jacket. Check out the BSS (Best Shot...
Nikon Coolpix 885 Point & Shoot Digital Camera -...
Strengths: Great options for manual settings and preset modes, very attractive and solid design, nice picture quality, rechargeable battery is great (if it comes with one), macro shots are a lot of fun.
Weakness: 3x zoom is limited, Odd fit for the hand that takes a little getting used to (this is personal preference), menus are sometimes a bit confusing or difficult to navigate, batteries can run out fast.
I got a great deal on this little guy for $180 on an online site with rechargeable batteries and a charger. I love the look of this little camera, even more than the latest Nikon coolpix models that I saw in stores. I like the feel, and it is quite solid for the price class. Let me tell you, and I consider this true with most any digital camera, you MUST get a rechargeable battery. Otherwise, you...
