I've had this camera for a couple of weeks and it is perfect for my main use. I'm a sports memorabilia collector and need something small and fast so I can capture various sports figures autographing items. My old camera a Kodak DC240 Zoom was just to big this camera can be whipped out and a nice pic can be taken on a fly. I've also used it in low to no light and they came out perfect. The...
Strengths: I like the size and the look. Picture is good and very easy to use.
I bought one earlier and now I just bought the second one for my parents. It's easy to use! My father is 75 and he was able to master it within 30 minutes.
Strengths: Compact, lightweight, highly portable. Great battery life. Digital zoom actually produces usable results. Sharp images. Great movie taker. Accurate skin tones and other colors. Powerful flash.
Weakness: Cannot see LCD screen in bright light. Slight vignetting at wide angle. Weak lens cover -- don't put any pressure on it.
I've had this camera for only 14 days; but I've already taken over 500 pictures in all sort of conditions, such as bright outdoors at a sunny beach, dark indoors at a bar, in the woods while biking. I continue to be impressed by this camera's many great features. Most features are obvious; but some you learn after you read the manual or start playing around within the menus. Startup time is fast...
Strengths: Compact and lightweight camera that allows photographers on the go to take high-quality pictures in any place and at anytime
Weakness: No A/V output and slide show function. This is probably the biggest loss for the XG.
The ultra slim Minolta DiMAGE Xg packs a 3x optical zoom and 3.2-megapixel resolution into a body that is just 20mm thick! Though the DiMAGE Xg is almost identical to its predecessor, the DiMAGE Xt, it has a number of fundamental difference, including a faster start-up time (a speedy 0.8 seconds), a larger 1.6" LCD monitor, and a fast, 30-frame-per-second movie mode for high quality movies. Much...
Strengths: Anytime, anywhere camera with great features. Easy and Comfortable interface. Value!!!
Weakness: Not for the professional photographers.
What can I say? The previous reviews can describe how Goooood Dimage Xg is. It has a number of features that anyone need to take a picture anywhere, anytime. Great Value! To be honest, there is NO disadvantages! but if I have to write down those, the only thing that would be disadventage (especially for me) is the battery. I prefer using rechargeable/on-rechargeable AA battery rather than a...
Strengths: Size. One of the sleekest designs around. Their zoom lens technology very unique, as it doesn't protrude from the camera.
Weakness: Few. Compared to its predecessor (the XT), cannot use the same charger. No external inputs for the charger.
This is the third Dimage I have owned, and am very happy with it. The others were given away as gifts. The XG is very similar to the XT, if anything it seems the major difference is that it is now marketed under the "Konica Minolta" name. Start-up seems a tad faster with this new one. Pictures come out very clean. It really is the perect camera for the point and click type of photographer. It's...
Strengths: The size is great, fits anywhere, very light, good battery strength.
Weakness: Flash power weak, easy to cover lens with finger, picture clarity only average compared to other 3.2mp cameras
Great size on the camera, super easy to carry and fit anywhere. The video recording is good, only limited by storage space, up to 30fps and you can zoom while recording. The XG has some little cut and paste picture gimmicks that must be popular in Japan but aren't very useful. The number of pixels on the LCD display has gone DOWN since the last model (XT) and is noticible. But fewer pixels mean...
Strengths: ultra fast startup time, weight and size for portability, long battery life
Weakness: small viewfinder, interface not for first time DIGICAM users.
When I upacked the box, what I thought was an accessory was actually the camera already. Excellent physical features, no bulges. Picture quality is great. No need to wait for a next shot. Good for moving subjects. You'd want a casing to go with it because scratches are easily noticed. The way you hold it needs some getting used to so you don't block the lens. As with all compact cameras, special...
Strengths: Great design, elegant, so slim that you can carry it with you at all times. Fastest start up time! (less than 1 second). Also, great picture quality!
Weakness: Haven't seen any so far
It is a must have camera! Great picture quality. And no need to wait hours between two shots (so you won't miss great pictures as with most digital cameras). It is also very small so you don't have to worry about it, bring it EVERYWHERE! Buy it with confidence!!
For sheer wow! factor, the red version of Xg is hard to beat. Oh! And it takes nice pictures to boot

Minolta's "X" series of subcompact digicams have been a big hit in the market, and it's easy to see why: They're well-built, take great pictures, and are super compact. The DiMAGE Xg is the latest in the line, and it's a beauty. Color is better than ever, battery life the longest yet for an X-model, and Minolta also seems to have made some improvements in the lens as well. If you're in the market...

Konica Minolta DiMAGE Xg 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera
Strengths: small size, ease of operation
Weakness: no macro mode, small screen
Great camera for occaisional pictures. It is fairly simple to operate. Flash charges fairly quickly. The samll view screen makes it somewhat difficult to see details, but the compact size makes up for it all.
