Good Camera

Strengths: Picture clarity, 3.0" LCD, options

Weakness: 16MB SD Card

I recently purchased this camera as an upgrade for my 2.2 MP HP that I purchased A LONG time ago. As it was the first camera I have purchased in the true digital camera era, I wanted to make sure that I was getting a good camera. I researched many different models and found that this one appeared to be the best one in its price range. I was a little apprehensive about not having a viewfinder, but...

Great camera overall!

Strengths: HUGE lcd screen, small and compact

Weakness: Controls a bit small

Recently upgrading from an SD400, I absolutely fell in love with the huge lcd. Takes great clear pictures and is small enough to go anywhere. My only complaint are the small controls that may be a bit small for some. Overall, great camera! Remember to buy a case!

Just purchased in April

Strengths: Beautiful details on the design, High ISO 800, 3" screen

Weakness: No viewfinder, more vulnerable screen, lower battery life due to big screen, pricey compared to other brands.

Without any reviews to help me on my decision to purchase this camera, I boldly went ahead and bought it. I first purchased the Canon SD600, an upgrade from my Canon S400 which died only after 2 years of use. I still believe in Canon's picture quality though and wish my older camera would still work. The reason for trading in the SD600 to the SD630 model was more vain than anything. I was a...

Stunnin little beauty!

Strengths: 3" screen,high quality resolution.Userfriendly controls!

Weakness: 16mgb memory, but show me one that comes with more----it's a sales pitch 4more!

My first digital canon having finally given up my trusted Eos 500-SLR---gettin 2heavy 2take on hikes or pack away when takin 2the air.Totally impressed by the ability of this tiny pack, so much in there when you come 2manual control.Handles easily, userfriendly passage thru'vast menu of possible shootin modes without being overwhelmed.Need to take your time to find out it's potential,however...

Love this camera

Strengths: Great screen, stylish design and good size

Weakness: No viewfinder (but who need a viewfinder if you have a 3" screen)

I owned a Canon S230 before this and have always like Canon camera's picture quality. I really love the great 3" screen of the sd630 which is great for taking and viewing pictures. The pictures qualities are very good. The camera only comes with 16M SD card which you definitely need to upgrade it, a 1G or higher SD card is strongly recommended.

great camera!

Strengths: amazing picture quality, 3.0 inch LCD screen.

Weakness: need a bigger card (only 16M card come with cemera)

I love this camera. Canon has always been my favorite brand for tiny digital point and shoot cameras, because of it's quality and performance. It takes very nice pictures and good videos too. The battery only lasts about 4 hours when you're taking a lot of pictures. I really enjoyed shooting with the Canon SD 630 Digital ELPH. It takes very nice photos with colors that are spot on. This compact...

great camera in pocket

Strengths: Big 3 inch screen, great image quality in plenty light, solid-built

Weakness: No ois, screen can be sharper

This is a great camera for everyone. It's easy to use. You can use it without reading the manual. I really like the 3 inch screen. I compared SD600 and SD630 in store before I made the decision. The big screen makes eyes more confortable, and makes this camera a great device to show your photos to others. The screen is tough and not easy to scratch. I also like the click wheel control, which can...

like this camera a lot.

Strengths: huge screen, easy to use, canon brand guarantee

Weakness: battery life, no viewfinder

I am happy with my recent purchase. I bought it to replace another canon powershot and am very satisfied with the ease of use, the great pictures it takes and how compact it is. Of course you will need to get a memory card with lots of capacity and it might be good to get an extra battery since the battery lifetime is not so good. But these are things most of us buy extra anyway. What I am...

Decent camera

Strengths: Nice pictures, good quality image on Macro feature

Weakness: No battery monitor

The pictures come out with good quality, but I can't believe there is no indication of the battery charge level, so you never know when the camera will die on you (you do get a couple of minute warning that it's time to charge the battery). I called Canon thinking I was just missing something in the myrid of options, but I was told no compact cameras have that feature. Maybe this is so for Canon,...

Looks great and girlfriend loves it

Strengths: Huge 3.0" LCD Size and Portability Image quality ISO 800 User-friendly interface Picture editing on camera

Weakness: No viewfinder Need to remove battery to charge Control to switch between modes Hard to use with one hand-only No preset modes.

I bought this camera for my girlfriend and I must say I am very satisfied with this camera. I didn't get use it ask much as I would have liked, but for the short time I did get to use it, I was impressed. I have not owned a Canon camera before, but i was impressed by the quality when using some friend's old SD400 cameras. I have been using a Casio Elixm Z4-U for over 3 years, but the quality of...

Canon PowerShot SD630

All in all, the exquisite Canon IXUS 65 leaves little room for complaint. Maybe the battery could be a bit longer lasting and a little more zoom would also be welcome. But that’s all. I can’t help being positive about this camera. It’s a must and not just for the trend setters in our midst!

Canon PowerShot SD630

The six-megapixel Canon PowerShot SD630 is a fine camera for most casual shooters. It has a luxurious LCD display, a fair number of scene modes, advanced settings, and automatic image rotation. However, it is expensive.

Canon Powershot SD630

While the Canon
PowerShot SD630 still features a lot of the same classic Digital ELPH design elements, Canon jazzed things up a bit with the two-toned black and silver body and sleeker overall design. Along with providing solid image quality in regular lighting conditions with good color and accurate skin tones, the Canon
SD630 incorporates many of Canon's technological advances for...

DCRP Review: Canon PowerShot SD630 Digital ELPH

Long-time readers of this site know that I've been a big fan of Canon's SD-series cameras for a while now. I'm not quite as excited about the SD630, though, mainly because there are more compelling options available. Don't get me wrong: the SD630 is a nice camera, and one that I'd recommend. At the same time, it's worth mentioning that there are other cameras offering similar-sized LCDs plus...
