Strengths: Fully rotating LCD screen, LONG battery life, excellent picture quality, fast shutter recovery.
Weakness: Red eye on indoor photos with flash. However, I corrected this easily just using the Walmart software that comes on the picture cd's.

Strengths: Flip-out screen, long battery life, Great photos, Fast turn-on.
Weakness: 4-AA batteries makes it heavier than most.
Before buying the A630, I had the 4-megapixel Canon A80 for three years. Loved the camera, but it takes poor pictures in low indoor light settings and the 1" screen is small and dim. Strengths: Very nice 2.5" rotary screen. You can flip the LCD screen over when not using and protect the LCD Screen. Excellent photo shots outdoors as well as in doors. 4X optical zoom .
Weakness: Uses 4 AA batteries , Big in size does not fit normal sized pocket.
