Strengths: image quality is great, user friendly menu/playback, the dial is *awesome*, nice big buttons, hi-res. LCD and wide angle lens, 4x optical zoom and Canon quality.
Weakness: none
for a point and shoot this has it all, if you want a professional camera go pay megabucks and get a Nikon digital SLR or Canon EOS otherwise if you want a great small easy camera with decent manual options get this one.
Strengths: Lightweight, feel solid and luxurious when handling, produce good quality picture in low-light condition (inside my car, at night)
Weakness: Not yet found, beside the casing is made of plastic.
It's a great camera to have. A little pricey compare to its Panasonic TZ5 rival (I paid $256 - $300 at other places - shipped from B&H for the SD880 IS; the TZ5 was sold in Costco for about $220 (after instant rebate) or about $250 at other places. THE GOOD: Excellent photo quality for its class; optical image stabilization; pleasing interface and design; wide-angle lens. THE BAD: Mode dial spins a bit too freely; button positioning might bother some users; very noticeable fringing. THE BOTTOM LINE: Simply put, the Canon PowerShot SD880 IS is an excellent point-and-shoot camera.
