Canon PowerShot G2 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: easy to use switch

Weakness: get cf card lets you be free.

I found the camera to be excelent for picts, I travel alot in my work and get many opertunities to snap many events and with a 256 card I can bring small movies and picts. It helps me prove projects and events for payment and future work. With a 900 pict I can take many and keep just the best. Snap alot and delete those that don't work out. I like the camera better than my last. Panasonic video...

Canon PowerShot G2 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: EXCELLENT images, great manual controls, bright flash, comfortable grip, swivel LCD screen, excellent macro, incredibly wide aperatures, slow shutter, great zoom, ISO 50 is 99.9% noise free

Weakness: shutter lag is a little slow (have to half-press shutter first or the shutter fire is unpredictable), high shutter speeds only available with narrow aperatures, ISO 400 is not really usable.

GENERAL COMMENTS: The grip does fall a little short of the G3's, but if you mount and lens adapter tube (Kenko's 46.5mm-58mm tube is about $10) it has a nice SLR-like feel to it, although the viewfinder is slightly block in the wide-angle half of the zoom range. LCD picture has a noticable amount of noise when its dark out. ISO 200 is only so-so, which is a shame seeing as the 1/1000 shutter can...

Canon PowerShot G2 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Great Pictures in all types of light levels in auto mode.

Weakness: None yet

This is the best digital camera I've used. I had a lot of experience with the Canon C720 Zoom. It could not take low light pictures in auto mode and did not work well with indoor lighting period. The G2 does everything in auto for me outdoors, indoors, evening light, back light. I am impressed. It does great night long exposure shots, too. Set the shutter speed to 15 seconds and it will pick up...

Canon PowerShot G2 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Auto-focus, wealth of features and included software

Weakness: None

My first >4 meg camera was a Olympus D4040. After a week I took back and exchanged it for the G2. That was a year ago. With 128M of memory and the optional leather case, I'm still in love. Can't speak enough of all the features. Overwhelmed with the mini-movies and sound. The flash memory for an upgrade of the operating system will be a future plus. Got bite by Olympus (@$125) for upgrading the...

Canon PowerShot G2 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: It's loaded with options that are easily accessible, and it's easy to use. The pictures look great!

Weakness: None

I swore I'd never get a digital -- I've shot film for years and have been perfectly happy. However, my brother bought a G2, and, after fooling with it for about 15 minutes, I knew I had to have one. Much thought has gone into the controls and operations of the camera, resulting in a truly fun, excellent-quality camera. I can recommend it without reservation. It's fantastic!

Canon PowerShot G2 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Very easy to operate-even for a newbie like me! The instructions were written in easy to understand step by step proceedure with pictures to help

Weakness: none yet

Great camera-definatly woth the $$. I was not going to spend as much money but after reading and going on to every camera review site the G-2 was allways the camera the others were compared to if something was lacking the reviewer would say it missed something unlike the G-2. I've allready printed pictures and e-mailed them to friends and uploaded them to be printed on photo paper professionally....

Canon PowerShot G2 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: This is my 3rd digital camera and by far the best!, then a Nikon 950, Nikon 990 and now the Canon G2. Its performance blows away Digicams costing twice as much.

Weakness: Autofocus can sometimes be a little slow

My local camera store (aka Camera "geeks" still reccommend this over anything they sell, including the Nikon 5700 (twice the price). I have purchased a Speedlight (hotshow on top connection) and a 2x telephoto and they add to the camera's already stellar performance.

Canon PowerShot G2 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: It takes great pictures and the resolution is fantastic. I can enlarge pictures and they still are highly defined. There are lots of options for shooting too.

Weakness: None that I have come across so far.

I love my new camera. I am so excited I take it everywhere with me. I'll be using it for reports and other projects.

Canon PowerShot G2 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Easy to use, great pictures, good battery life, very useable with bigger memory card

I read a lot of reviews with people snivelling about battery life, but i find it more than adequate for my novice requirements. I do not have to fight with mine, like my friends have to fight with theirs, and it seems fairly robust. But it you'll like it...

Canon PowerShot G2 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Has an excellent selections of features. Well designed.

Weakness: It needs macro lens for any pictures smaller than credit card.

I have had the camera for a week. I am a dental student and wanted the camera to photograph intra-orally. I can take great pictures, but have decided it needs a macro lens to get the details I want. Out of the box it takes great pictures of an entire arch of teeth, but if you want any more specific you have to zoom and crop with software. I hope the macro lens helps. I am very impressed overall...
