This camera has all the important features a serious amateur would want and then some. A great all-around camera
Strengths: Small, light, and compact digital SLR. Great for vacations, hiking, etc. Mine has survived a 4 foot drop onto concrete, with no damage.
Weakness: Doesn't have self cleaning sensor
The camera can shoot ISO1600 with a reasonable amount of grain/noise. That means you can shoot indoors without flash, getting good candid shots without drawing attention to yourself. Strengths: 8 MP, able to take action shots without the digital lag, light and compact, great software
Weakness: May need to attach a flash unit in some indoor situations
You can read the specs for yourself but what surprised me about this camera is how easy it is to use and achieve great pictures. The software included is very complete and even comes with all the cables needed. I do recommend a 2 GB memory card....I ended up buying two 1 GB cards. I like the size and weight of the camera body because it reminds me of SLR cameras from the 70's and early 80's...
