Strengths:  Takes a charge quickly. Only thing that's compatible with my Canon camera.
Weaknesses:  Short life compared to other batteries. Not a great value for $60 -- and you'll need at least two.
Review:  This battery lasts a bit longer than tha BP-511 it replaces, but only powers my Canon Powershot Pro 1 for 2-3 hours before pooping out. Other camera batteries last twice this long. Well built, but very expensive for mediocre performance.

Strengths:  Charge does not take too long (+/- 2hrs); lasts forever-long in my SD800 IS; none-too-big for storage in appropriate camera case or bag.
Weaknesses:  Somewhat expensive compared to regular alkaline batteries; no clear idea from packaging about length of warranty or extent of its coverage.
Review:  Even though people generally tend to complain about proprietary batteries, I've found that in this case the NB-5L is a pretty good deal, assuming you can purchase it in the mid-to-low $30 range. For light usage, I've had the battery last a week with no downtime (and I charged it only then because I had some events to shoot and not because the camera was indicating "low battery"...
