The VPC-CA9 was awarded IPX8 certification (which requires the device to operate when fully submersed in water) based on JIS C 0920 waterproofing guidelines. Furthermore, it employs the advanced compression technology of MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, a video format that's easy to handle on your PC and handy for web applications. The CA9 records high-definition 720p video in a waterproof body....As well as being a high-definition video camera, the CA9 also captures realistic 9-megapixel photos just like those taken with a dedicated digital camera. It can even record higher-resolution images at up to 12 megapixels, using real-time pixel-interpolation technology*3. Also, thanks to the reverse sequential shooting function, there's less chance of missing a photo opportunity. This function continues to load images as long as the Photo button is kept pressed down, and once your finger is released, the most recently loaded images are recorded onto the SD card.....Thanks to the ISO-standard MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format, video files are as easy to handle as photo images shot with a regular digital camera.
