Sony Handycam DCR-TRV33 MiniDV Digital Camcorder

Strengths: Wow! This camcorder is awesome, it's light, small, affordable, and has a great picture. The LCD on the camera is a touch screen. Changing settings and adding effects is a breeze.

Weakness: A backup battery should be bought. The battery that comes with the camcorder lasts for an hour. A six hour battery can be bought for 100$.

Overall, it's an awesome camcorder. If you're looking for something light and sleek with great quality picture - This is it! The best feature of the camera would have to be the touch screen. It's just so easy to change settings and add effects.

Sony Handycam DCR-TRV33 MiniDV Digital Camcorder

Strengths: Many good features. Can be used as a 1M digital camera and a webcam. Analog conversion with pass-through.

Weakness: battery doesn't last long enough. Noisy when recording.

I was looking for a Panasonic GS50 (no 1M digital camera). So turned to Sony TRV33. I didn't have much digital comcorder experience before, so can't really make comparision, but its features and functionalities are good enough for me. It is noisy when recording.

Sony Handycam DCR-TRV33 MiniDV Digital Camcorder

Strengths: compact, lightweight, steady shot works great, on-screen controls

Weakness: no flash, green night shots, manual controls

I use this for motorcycle and sports videos and it works very well. the steady shot is flawless and the the quality is very nice. I do not like the manual controls because they are on-screen and are hard to use while recording.

Sony Handycam DCR-TRV33 MiniDV Digital Camcorder

Strengths: Easy to follow menu selections on the touch screen when 1st setting things up. Very compact. I can even use my camera case to fit this little baby in there. Brillant colors when playing back video.

Weakness: None really except that I fumbled when switching fr recording to taking still photo. Add'l purchase for accessories needed(ie longer battery life, AC/DC, higher memory stick, etc.)

Other strengths: it fits exactly in the palm of your hand with easy control of the switches with your thumb and index finger. So many capabilities. You can record motion to tape or mem stick and still to stick. Haven't used night shot yet. Can download from camcorder to computer w/ USB cable (included). Other weakness: Because I fumbled with the switching to take still photo, video was recorded...

Sony Handycam DCR-TRV33 MiniDV Digital Camcorder

Strengths: Excellent grip. Good video quality. I find the sound recording on video very good, with low noise and good hi-fi. Stills are of acceptable quality. Photos taken at night are acceptable too.

Weakness: Auto shut-off. Shuts off even when setting the menu. Does not shut off when in Playback or Memory (still picture) modes. Provided battery and memory stick are inadequate.

I purchased a Sony NO-OM71D battery for the camera. This is an excellent - if expensive - unit. Later, I bought a 128 Mbyte memory stick (when the price was right), and now have a really decent camera. Ensure that you buy a tape-head cleaner, as you will need to use it on occasion. I also recommend a monopod, and shooting through the viewfinder, to reduce camera movement.

Sony Handycam DCR-TRV33 MiniDV Digital Camcorder

Strengths: Very Good Video quality. Compact and light weight. Easy to use. Reasonably priced

Weakness: Digital picture quality is loust for 1Mp camera. The Auto Focus Zoom is not really good for taking digital pictures. The video editing software that is provided is not a good one.

Great camcorder in its class. Nice video quality. 520 line of Horizontal resolutions is good for he price. Compact and easy to carry. Sound recording may not be that great... If you are looking for a DVC with good digital picture clarity this is not the one.

Sony Handycam DCR-TRV33 MiniDV Digital Camcorder

Strengths: Very Clear Video Still Photo's are good Price balance with Features Small, Easy to Handle, very light

Weakness: No Flash (for still photo) Small Memory Card Included

This is a very good camcorder for the price. It is definetly a good quality product from Sony (as is with most other products). It is very easy to manage and carry around. Before you purchase online, I reconmend that you go to a retail store and see a actual working display to get a feel. Touchscreen is a very neat feature. I wish it would include a bigger memory card though, but i already own a...
