Nice Compact, Lightweight Pro Level High Definition Camera

Strengths: Pro level 1080i HD camera in a light-weight, well balanced package. Good manual control, EXCELLENT auto white balance.

Weakness: Low light performance is weak, as is low light focus performance. Manual controls not as well laid out as the FX1 and competitor’s products. No 24p/30p modes.

HDR-FX1

Strengths: Great Resolution, Great sound when using a professional boom mic such as Audio Technica 500. Superior Picture Quality

Weakness: No HDMI port for computer interface. Built in filter converters hdv to 16:9 DV.

That is a major drawback for someone who is trying to create film...

Sony Handycam HDR-FX7

THE GOOD: Excellent overall video quality; responsive focus and zoom. THE BAD: Menu navigation doesnt circle back; useless manual; anemic audio support. THE BOTTOM LINE: The Sony Handycam HDR-FX7 is an excellent high-definition camcorder from a video perspective, but its less satisfying if youre an audio control freak.
