Strengths: love the size, great movie quality.
Weakness: Still photo sucks, not great in low light.
Canon is always good at making compact camcorders. I love the size on this one which captures great movie quality. The stills photo sucks on this one though it's not supposed to be a camera. Furthermore, it could be better in low light conditions.
Strengths: 1. 20x optical & 400x digital zoom is good for sports 2. superb night mode 3. image stablization is very useful
Weakness: 1. 1.33MP still is not that useful.
very well built. The 20x optical & 400 x digital zoom is killer for sports events. You will love to have that feature. Night mode is superb with the build-in mini video light. very convenient. Plus the image stablization is very handy. The only drawback is the useless 1.33 MP still camera. That is NOT even enough for 3 x 5 prints. totally a waste. overall, great camcorder for the money. highly...
Strengths: TAKES CRISP, CLEAR VIDEO AND PHOTOS, FAIRLY EASY TO USE, SUPER COMPACT AND LIGHT WEIGHT, A MUST HAVE ITEM FOR CAPTURING THOSE IDEAL MOMENTS, ADJUSTS TO ALL LIGHTING SITUATIONS.
Weakness: WILL TAKE A DAY OR TWO TO GET USED TO LOCATING SMALL CONTROLS IF YOU WERE USED TO A BIGGER CAMCORDER
GREAT CAMERA, CAN TAKE PICTURES AT THE SAME TIME YOU ARE CAPTURING VIDEO. HOOKS INTO PRINTERS WITH USB AND CAMERA READY OPTIONS WITHOUT THE USE OF A COMPUTER. THIS IS A REAL TIME SAVER. CAPTURES PICTURES CRYSTAL CLEAR. I LOVE THIS CAMERA AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND SAME.
Strengths: This is my first camcorder. I once planed to buy a Sony DCR-HC42, however, the deep optical zoom attracts me. After using for about one month, I have found most of the features I need for a Mini DV: compact size, light-weighted, friendly operation system.
Weakness: The control buttons are not very smooth. A little bit noisy.
It is a great camcorder with lots of fun functions. Also provide the possibility to connect with printer without a PC. Price is not as high as Sony, but the image quality is not bad. I would like to recommend to others.
Strengths: I bought this camera to replace our 5 year old VHS camcorder. It had most of the features that I was looking for: MiniDV, Optical zoom greater than 10x, batterly life greater than 1 hour, and memory card for digital pictures.
Weakness: it is link of biggy and heavy.
It has more functions than you'd really want in such a camera -- if you are ever going to do something with the footage you will be using a computer and an editing program, so you don't really need the editing modes on the camera. And it's flexible enough for most non-professional, home users.
Strengths: Great Product from Cannon. One of the best in min DV's. Light weight, easier handling. simpler menu settings
Weakness: slow recording to pc.
I have always liked canon. Elura 90 is one of the best mini DV's in the market. visit steve digicams for more details. This is my first camcorder and it is great. Easier handling, best for home video's. Accepts SD card which goes with my digital camera as well. Best for the price.
Strengths: 20x optical, good low light, compact
Weakness: takes time to get used to small buttons
This is my first camcorder and it is a GREAT camcorder for the money! Takes great videos. Pictures are great and low light is good! Size is compact! Love it!
Strengths: Small camcorder, great screen
Weakness: Heavier than I expected
I purchased this camcorder to replace another Canon camcorder that stopped working, and this seems to work very good. I like the small size and nice screen. It also charges pretty quickly. The controls are well laid out.
Strengths: light weight..has lots of features
Weakness: none
Its light weight ..has lot of features that we normally use also its a minidv camcorder which is of latest technology..the focus and zoom is really good...picture quality is nice..

The Canon Elura 90 is this year’s top of the line model from their middle-of-the-road Elura series. It sports a number of quality Canon features, but does not have a real leg up over its sister models, the Elura 80 and 85.
Top
The Canon Elura 90 is the top model in this three camcorder lineup, and it seems to embody that “more of the same” paradigm we’ve come to expect from Canon. Always playing it safe and never jumping the gun, Canon has made its mark on the industry by producing (and never pre-release hyping) quality products that perform well year after year. But don’t look to Canon’s consumer camcorder...

Decent middle-level DV
Strengths: Balance of great video and acceptable still image quality. Good Canon 34mm video lens with 20X optical zoom. Excellent Macro mode for small object, focus well at 3cm. External Mic input.
Weakness: Low light still not so good, wish could improve at Elura100. Bad arranged control key, not user friendly. A little bit slow zoom, not very smooth even at long side(near 20X). Not support MPEG4
Decent middle-level DV, well build, good for most home users. Photo quality is not good as digital camera, but still ok, and the best thing is you could take photo to SD card when you record video to the mini DV tape.
