Description
The TAMRON 1.4X TELECONVERTER/CANON EOS features 4-element 1.4x teleconverter for autofocus lens mounts, and autofocus with lenses that are F/4.5 or faster. The 1.4X teleconverter will increase the focal length of the master lens by 1.4X and make the lens one f-stop slower. It will also allow greater magnification in macro since the Minimum Object Distance (MOD) of the master lens does not change when used with the teleconverter. The 1.4X teleconverter can be used with both AF and MF lenses. AF will be retained if the master lens is F/4.5 or faster.

Tamron AF14C-700 Tele Converter Lens
Strengths: Light weight, solid built, adds needed extra magnification for wildlife photos, inexpensive
Weakness: none I can think of
This 1.4x converter does degrade the image quality of my f/4.5-5.6 telephoto lens slightly. I knew this before purchasing it, so no surprises. However, I am pleased with the quality of the photos with this converter. I do not demand tack sharp images(as the pros do).
